James G. Onder is founder of OnderLaw, a preeminent personal injury and mass tort litigation firm with offices in St. Louis, Missouri; Nashville, Tennessee; and Newport Beach, California. Mr. Onder takes great pride in changing the way corporations do business, the firm’s motto being, we not only take on cases, we take on causes. His accomplished team includes 30 attorneys and over 150 dedicated staff members. In addition to achieving more than $5 billion in settlements and verdicts representing plaintiffs’ interests, Mr. Onder negotiated a groundbreaking $8.9 billion agreement with Johnson & Johnson on behalf of current and future talc-related cancer victims.
Mr. Onder is a founder of talcum powder-related ovarian cancer litigation, having filed the second case in the nation and the first in the State of Missouri in 2014. OnderLaw, currently represents over 20,000 women who have suffered talc-related cancers and their survivors in what is believed to be the largest such docket in the country. He is also a founder of mini-blind-related death and injury litigation. His work has resulted in countless young lives saved because of changes he forced in miniblind design.
In 2016, OnderLaw, was recognized for achieving the first, second, and third largest verdicts in the state of Missouri, and the third-highest verdict in 2017. Representative firm achievements include but are not limited to: leading Missouri litigation by representing more than 24,000 plaintiffs in the Bayer-Monsanto glyphosate-related non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma coordinated Missouri litigation; serving as primary or local counsel for more than 20,000 talc-related cancer cases and leading six trial teams that obtained verdicts in excess of $300 million; serving as national co-chair of the Plaintiffs’ Law and Briefing Committee, on Discovery, Science and Expert Committees for both the MDL and JCCP, and as national co-lead counsel in the MDL in Yasmin, Yaz, and Ocella birth control cases; serving on Science and Expert Committees in gadolinium-based contrast agent cases; serving as local and national coordinating council in a certified mass action representing corn producers against Syngenta; serving on MDL Science, Expert, and Daubert and JCCP Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in Zoloft-related birth defects cases; serving on Plaintiff’s Executive Committee in Zantac California JCCP; serving on Plaintiff’s Steering Committee in Truvada California JCCP; serving as national co-lead counsel in Tasigna product liability MDL; serving on the Leadership Committee for Syngenta Paraquat California JCCP; and serving on the Bankruptcy Tort Claims Committee in both the Imerys Talc America, Inc. and LTL (“J&J”) bankruptcies.
